Most of this G minor piece was written in the early 1990's and the seventh movement was finally finished in 2004. Unlike most music by Mike Nelson which is written for specific occasions, groups or places this suite was composed without technical or spatial compromise. There are six movements in varying styles and tempi with the seventh incorporating fragments of all the previous movements. The fourth movement has proved to be the most successful free download so far on the violinandviola web site with more than fifteen thousand download hits (Sept. 2006).
